The Latrobe field hockey team traveled to WPIAL Division 2 AA Fox Chapel for the second of two meetings Wednesday evening. After a scoreless first half, the Wildcats fell behind halfway through the third quarter, but a late goal by Lauren Sapp tied the game up at one with one quarter to play. The Lady Foxes went ahead in the final quarter and held off two late penalty corners to defeat the Wildcats 2-1. Marissa Novak made seven first half saves and Gracie Blycheck made six second half saves in goal. The Wildcats led 15-14 in shots and tallied 9 penalty corners to the Lady Foxes 10.
The junior varsity lost to the hosts 1-0. Valentina Rossi made ten saves. The Wildcats were outshot 11-0 and did not earn a penalty corner to the Lady Foxes four.
The Wildcats (6-3 Division 2, 6-4 overall) host Division 2 AA Penn-Trafford on Wednesday, October 21 for an 8:00pm varsity only game at Rossi Field.
