The Greater Latrobe girls’ volleyball team honored their two seniors, Emma Fenton and Gracie Wetzel last night during the match against the Connellsville Falcons. Fenton and Wetzel didn’t disappoint as they finished one and two in the offensive statistics with Emma Fenton recording 10 kills and Gracie Wetzel collecting 5 kills. Each senior also was responsible for a service ace each.
Defensively the seniors experience also came up big as Fenton led the varsity squad with 6 digs and Wetzel accounted for 5 digs. Anna Rafferty added 4 kills to the Latrobe totals while grabbing 5 digs, two service aces and 1 block. The remainder of Latrobe’s offense came from Lily Fenton, Maya Krehlik and Emma Blair each with 2 kills.
The setting duo of Lily and Emma Fenton provide 23 assists for the Wildcat hitters with Lily Fenton posting 17 assists and Emma Fenton chalking up 7 assists.
Lily Fenton, Baily Watson, Alanna Thiel, Shallyn Shank, Jillian Wesneski and Maya Krehlik helped ad to the Cat’s defense with another 11 digs, 3,2,2,2,1 and 1 respectively.

The Latrobe JV also won their match in two sets by the same scores of 25 – 9, and 25 – 15. Paige Watson led the JV squad offensively with 3 kills, Elle Snyder and Madison Gresh each added 2 kills and Josie Skoloda and Ryley Quinn posted 1 kill each. Five service aces were turned for the match with Giovanna Jones scoring 2, with Mikena Marino and Paige Watson each chalking up 1 ace.
Defensively for the JV team is was Elle Snyder and Paige Watson sharing the top spot with 2 digs each with Issi Trice and Giovanna Jones grabbing 1 dig each.
Setting duties were performed by Freshmen Mikena Marino and Hanna Costello with Costello accounting for 5 assists and Marino posting 4 assists on the night.

This concludes the lady Wildcats regular season and the Cat’s start preparation for the W.P.I.A.L volleyball playoff. The team and coaching staff would like to thank our seniors for their years of hard work and dedication, wishing them only the best in the years to come.
