The Greater Latrobe Men’s volleyball team ted the in a non-section match Tuesday night and recorder a 3 – 1 victory by the scores of 25 – 13, 25- 11, 21 – 25 and 25 – 20.

Frankie Newill again paced the Wildcat on offense with 17 kills followed by fellow outside hitter Enzo Rodi with 9 kills. Middle hitter Will Burkard added 8 kills, Brennan Ward collected 6 and Mike Brackney, Tyler Ryan and Josh Havrilla rounded out the rest of the Latrobe kill totals 2,2 and 1. From his setting position orchestrating the Wildcat attack, Tyler Ryan distributed 30 assists to his offensive hitters.
In addition to scoring via the kill, Josh Havrilla and Tyler Nelson each produced 2 service aces to bolster the Cats numbers while Mike Brackney, Will Burkard and Frankie Newill blocked for 15 additional point 7, 5 and 3 respectively.
Defensively, a number of Latrobe’s defender got into the action with Sophomore Josh Havrilla leading the way with 13 digs. Dante Fresure racked up 11 digs, and Tyler Nelson, Tyler Ryan, Frankie Newill and Antononio Kantor combined for 27 additional digs 8, 7, 7, and 5.
Latrobe’s JV had to go the full three sets but were victorious by a 2 – 1 margin with scores of 25 – 16, 21 – 25 and 15 – 12 . The JV middle hitters led the charge combining for 11 kills with Tyler Nelson recording 7 and Isiac Waszo posting 4. In addition to their kill totals, the pair led the JV squad in two other categories with Waszo producing and Nelson accounting for 4 service aces on the night.
Josh Havrilla ran the Wildcat JV offense accounting for 17 assists.

Ruben Rojas stopped the Deer Lakes scoring attempts 6 times to lead the team in digs, followed by Josh Havrilla with 5 and Tyler Nelson and Bryson Hill each with 3 digs.

The Cat’s jump back into section action on Thursday evening with a home match against the Norwin Knights.
