Two evenly matched teams went head to head at Spartan Stadium on Thursday night. Latrobe got on the board first when a deflected clearance fell behind the Hempfield defense and Nolan Agostoni finished it to make it 1-0. Hempfield would score with seventeen left in the half. Lucas Koch set up Vincent Pettinato to tie up the game. It only took four minutes in the second half for Hempfield to take the lead when Casey Leonard drove a free kick from thirty-five yards out over the head of Latrobe goalkeeper Tanner Sabol. Latrobe began to take chances going forward and after ten more minutes of play, Will Casey set up Agostoni for his second goal. With less than thirteen minutes in the game, Ryan Banks combined with Luke Hamaty who scored past goalkeeper Owen Kelly to take control of the scoreboard. Sabol would face two dangerous attempts on the Latrobe goal and Ben Hamaty would last man defend Hempfield’s Jale Ballantyne attempts put in a tying goal. Latrobe was able to manage the time remaining in the game. Final score Latrobe 3- Hempfield 2.
